A master planning project that provides clarity to the identity and function of Riyadh as the capital of Saudi Arabia at the main locations of entry and exit to/from the city.

This planning process involves the creation of city entry points that are functional, culturally notable, and visually significant.

It also requires the consideration of the character of urban trends in Riyadh as well as the existing informal or illegal activities adjacent to these roads.

This study is a multi-disciplinary design and management study incorporating master planning, urban planning, environmental, economical, wayfinding, and transport expertise.

The study will develop a concept solution for the issues identified in a way which assists the determination of the optimum locations of gateways leading to Riyadh City.

Ten entry locations into Riyadh have been identified and of these, four major and six minor entrances have been defined together with the associated

design approach of interest.
